There are some basic things in my kit I can’t do without and NARS concealer sticks are one of them. I recommend them and use them as facial concealers for a few reasons, and so far I think they are unbeatable for that purpose.
Facial concealers need to be different than under-eye concealers. Facial concealers are used to cover blemishes and skin discolourations so they need to be stable, which makes them long-wearing, and they need to be easy to blend, which lets them do their job and let skin look flawless. The Nars sticks are pliable enough to blend easily, yet very stable which means they stay put and set up nicely on top of foundation. They’re opaque so they cover brilliantly and do the job without getting cakey and dry, as well as being lightweight enough to blend and not crease. They are available, as all Nars face products are, in a fantastic range of colours from very light (Chantilly) to very dark (Cafe). Use them over your foundation (so that you use less once the foundation evens out your complexion) and set with a little powder on a small brush (see MakeUp 101, Carry On Up The Concealer!) unless your skin is dry in which case they will look better and last without powder. The formula contains no parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances or phthalates so whether you’re a Custard, A Ginger or a Cafe, stick to NARS and you’ll be covered!
Did you know…..concealer sticks can be used for contouring and highlighting as well as concealing, but that’s another post! One stick will last ages unless you leave it to melt in a hot car. Just sayin!
